Forest Whitaker is an American actor, producer, and director who became notably well-known for his roles. Early Life & Childhood
He was born on July 15, 1961, in the US city of Longview, Texas. Both his father, Forest Steven Jr., and mother, Laura Francis, were special education teachers. Deborah is his older sister, and Forest Whitaker’s brothers are Kenn Whitaker and Damon Whitaker.
He went to California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where he played collegiate football. He switched his major to music after suffering a back problem. Later, he changed his focus to theatre and received admission to the music and drama conservatories of the University of Southern California, where he studied opera. He received his diploma in 1982.

Forest Whitaker made his film debut “The Assassination Game” in 1982. Later that same year, he made an appearance in “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.” In the movies “Vision Quest” and “North and South” from 1985, he appeared in cameos.

Through People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), he promotes vegetarianism (PETA). At a ceremony conducted at the organisation’s headquarters on June 21, 2011, he was formally introduced as the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Peace and Reconciliation.
He was a founding member of the International Institute for Peace (IIP), which is housed at Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey.
